Mike Skinner is entering his first season as a coach with the Warhawks’ varsity team ... Works with the team’s outfielders ... Oldest son, Gerard, is in his sixth season as Madison’s infielders coach ... Is in his 29th year of coaching high school sports ... Prior to joining Madison’s staff, served as the head football coach at George C. Marshall High for two seasons and Centreville High for eight seasons, compiling an 88-25 (.779) overall record and making seven postseason appearances over that time ... Led Centreville to the Group AAA Division 6 Northern Region championship in 1999 and 2000, and to the school’s lone state title in 2000 ... Produced dozens of Division I football players during his tenure at Centreville, helping build one of the top programs in the state ... Madison head coach Mark “Pudge” Gjormand worked as a football assistant under him at Marshall ... Also coached baseball, softball, wrestling and basketball during his time at Marshall and Centreville ... Along with Gjormand, directs the Greater Vienna Sports Camps during the summer ... Resides in Ashburn with his wife, Bonnie ... Has three children, Gerard, Andy and Veronica.
