Second Year Varsity Warhawk

Sterling played baseball through all age divisions of Vienna Little League for eight seasons. He was a part of AAA and Majors Town Championships. He played for the Colts and was an All-star for four seasons and was a key player on the 10-year old All-star team that finished third in the State. Sterling joined the Vienna Mustangs organization and was a member of a 2003 team that finished third at the AAU Nationals.  In 2004, Sterling played for the Vienna Mustangs in the CABA U15 Consolation Bracket Tournament winning the Consolation Championship. In 2005, Sterling hit a Grand Slam in the 16U CABA World Series for the Mustangs.

Sterling was an excellent player for the 2004 Undefeated JV Warhawks that won the District Championship his freshman season. As a sophomore Sterling was a Varsity Warhawk contributing as a pitcher, first baseman and designated hitter. He will be a key player during his junior season as the Warhawks will have his bat in the middle of the line-up. Sterling is prepared to see action as an outfielder, pitcher and first baseman as the Warhawks look to return to championship form.

Sterling's Baseball History

Sterling's thoughts on the Season: "Last year we were young, but this year no excuses.  We have to get it done and finish."

Coach Gjormand on Sterling: "Sterling returns to the varsity for his junior season. I have been as impressed with Sterling as any of the guys on our roster early this spring. Sterling enters in tremendous shape, and it shows. Sterling gives us many options in that he is athletic enough to run in the outfield and he has spent a great deal of time at first base.  He will also be utilized as a member of our pitching staff. He has a very relaxed approach at the plate and, with his ability and power, it sure is fun to watch him swing it."
