Third Year Varsity Warhawk

Jason has played baseball in Vienna since age 6. He played for The Vienna Little League Indians and was an All-star every year.  As a 12 year-old Jason was one of the key players that won the State Championship and finished third in the Southeastern United States just behind the World Champions from Florida. Since Little League, Jason has played for the Vienna Mustangs since he was 13.  He enjoyed an excellent summer following his freshman year for the Mustangs including the Summer High School Tournament in Louisville, KY and pitched last summer for the Vienna Mustangs and in the Commonwealth games. He played with the Faris Braves last fall.

Jason enjoyed an outstanding freshman season earning second team All-Liberty District as a pitcher and won 4 games while losing 1  for the 2004 Liberty District Champion Warhawks. As a sophomore, Jason was named second team All-Liberty District and had an ERA under 2.0 but slipped to a record of 1 win and 3 losses during a rebuilding season for the Warhawks. He worked hard in the off-season and is ready to lead the pitching staff as the Warhawks try to return to Championship form in 2006. Jason also may be called upon as an outfielder and first baseman as a junior and will be a key player for the 2006 Warhawks.

Jason's Baseball History

Jason's thoughts on the Season: "Who Ride?"

Coach Gjormand on Jason: "Jason is a three-year varsity starter who enters this, his junior year, as our number one guy on the mound. After posting a 1.91 earned run average as a sophomore and a very intense off-season, I expect that Jason will be one of the top pitchers in Northern Virginia, if not the guy. He is poised to lead what we think will be a very deep and impressive pitching staff. When not pitching, Jason will bring a much-improved bat to our lineup with the athleticism to play anywhere in the outfield as well as adding depth and a smooth glove at first base."
