Chris began playing baseball at age 4 and has played baseball in Vienna most of his life.  He was a Little League 9-10 and 11-12 year old all-star and led the Twins to the League Championship his 12 year old year.  He played Vienna Babe Ruth for three years as an all-star. Following his freshman season, Chris played for the NVFBL Senators in the fall and they won their Division. After his sophomore season, Chris pitched for the Vienna Mustangs in the Old Dominion League and in the National High School Championship Tournament. Chris pitched two strong games in the National Tournament helping the Mustangs to finish in the top 8. He also pitched well for the Mustangs this fall.

As a freshman at Madison, Chris was a pitcher for the District Champion Warhawks JV team.   As a sophomore he was a key member of the Warhawks varsity staff. He often came out of the bullpen and did not allow a run until his seventh appearance. Chris started the 2003 Northern Region Championship game on the mound for the Warhawks in their win over Robinson. He earned Honorable Mention All-Liberty District as a sophomore. Chris was expected to be a main starter for the 2004 season but suffered through an elbow injury which limited his appearances. He returns with lots of experience and a key leader of a deep pitching staff for what should be an excellent senior season.

Chris' thoughts on the Season: "It's an honor to be on a team represented by a great coaching staff, well rounded players and a supportive community. My four years at Madison have shown me that nothing is given to you and you have to earn everything. This team is young and resilient and as talented as any team I have been on. I am confident we will achieve our goals."

Coach Gjormand on Chris: "After a season off due to injury, we are excited to have a great competitor and leader, whose last two outings were a start in the '03 Regional Final and the '03 State Semifinals, back on the mound for his senior year. "
