Height: 5'10" Weight: 150 Throws: Left Bats: Left GPA: 3.4 Colleges Interested in attending: Will attend Salisbury State and play baseball School and Academic Recognition: Varsity Baseball Letter, Key Club, SADD Andrew started playing baseball in Warrington, PA where he enjoyed many years of success including winning a county championship with his brother Brian. He played for the JV Warhawks as a freshman and sophomore and was a key pitcher for the JV Warhawks. Andrew combined on the hill with his brother Brian in a JV win versus Woodson. After Brian struck out 9 Cavaliers to start the game, Andrew took the hill to shut them down the rest of the way, striking out 6 batters in relief. That excellent combined effort was a sign of more to come for the Warhawks from the Eck brothers. Andrew's sophomore season was cut short due to injury. After surgery and rehabilitation, Andrew joined his brother on the Varsity Warhawks as a junior where he was very effective as a left-handed pitcher coming out of the bullpen. Andrew also enjoyed a strong summer season playing for the Vienna Mustangs. Andrew is a hard-throwing lefty looking forward to his senior season.
Andrew's thoughts on the Season: "Warhawks Baseball: A program known throughout the State, hard off season conditioning, vigorous practices and a tradition of winning. I am proud to be a part of this program." Coach Gjormand on Mark: "Andrew enters his senior year much healthier than in '04. After a vigorous off-season work out schedule, he is primed and ready to display his talent." |
