Chris grew up playing baseball in Vienna.  He played Vienna Little League for the Giants and was an 11-12 year old all-star.  As a 13 year old Chris played for the 14 and Under Vienna Mustangs.  He played Vienna Babe Ruth Baseball and was an all-star.  Chris also played one summer for the Hawks and one summer of American Legion baseball. Chris was a member of the Vienna Mustangs Old Dominion League team last summer. Chris also played basketball for two years for the Warhawks and played one year of football.

At Madison, Chris played for the District Champion Junior Varsity Warhawks as a freshman starting as a pitcher and infielder.  As a sophomore Chris joined his brother Alan as a member of the State Championship Varsity team.  Chris had a terrific junior season as a third baseman, DH and RHP earning first team All-Liberty District and Honorable Mention All-Region. Chris had several key hits in the Warhawks Regional Championship season demonstrating power and speed.  He made many key defensive plays in big games for  the Warhawks. Chris led the Warhawks offense in a 5 to 1 win over McLean with a homerun and four RBI's and he was 3 for 3 with a double against Woodson in another victory. Chris pitched a two-hit shut out against Wakefield in the Spring Break Tournament. He played  in the playoffs although injured and still contributed key hits as the Warhawks won District and Regional Championships for the second consecutive year. Chris returns this season as one of the best players in Northern Virginia.

Chris thoughts on the Season: "If we all form into a team instead of individuals, competition watch out !"

Coach Gjormand on Chris: "Chris is coming off a tremendous '03 season at third base and on the mound for us.  At the plate he threw up some unbelievable numbers with consistency and power.  He hit in the four hole last season, covering the back of All-Met player of the year Matt Foley. Chris is coming off a serious injury sustained at the end of last season and is now eager to get this season's campaign under way.  His talent will lead him to VMI next fall where he will play with former Warhawks J.J. Hollenbeck, B.T. Good and his brother Alan Wimmer. The Keydets are getting a tough kid, with great character, who competes at the highest levels.  Chris will again shine as one of the top players in Northern Virginia in '04."

2004 Post Season Update: In 2004 Chris was  First Team All-District, Second Team All-Region,State All-Star and named to the All-Madison Team.
