- The Warhawks won the Hanahan Invitational Tournament in Charleston, S.C., last week, defeating Miami Senior (Fla.) in Saturday’s championship game.
- Jason Farley was named the Hanahan Invitational’s MVP, and was joined on the all-tournament team by Mark Riffee, Arman Moniri and Alex Andrews.
- At the HIT, Farley won two games, including a complete-game 3-hitter to improve to 5-0 this season. He has yet to allow an earned run on the 2006 season.
- The Warhawks have won four 1-run games this year.
- Madison won its final four games at last week’s Hanahan Invitational by a combined 27 runs.
- At 12-0, Madison is the lone undefeated team in the Northern Region, and the Warhawks are currently ranked No.2 in the latest Washington Post poll.
- The Warhawks will likely welcome back junior SS Rich Conlon, out following knee surgery, this week.
- After playing home tonight, the Warhawks will hit the road for six of their final seven regular season games.
- Madison has compiled the best record of any Northern Region school this decade, going 127-33 since the 2000 season with three district crowns.
Mark “Pudge” Gjormand took over the Madison High School baseball program in 1996, and has since won Liberty District regular season or tournament championships in six of his 10 seasons while also winning two Northern Region championships and one Group AAA state title. He enters today’s game with a 176-70 (.715) career record at the school.
